By joining, attending, accessing, or using Macclesfield Performance, the user agrees they have familiarised themselves with all in the policy and will adhere to it at all times.

Members choosing to train alone do so at their own risk and must follow the safety guidelines below.

1. Train Within Your Capability

Members must only perform exercises and use weights they can safely control without assistance

2. Use Safety Equipment

Safety bars or spotter arms must be used when performing barbell movements such as squats or bench press. Members must not perform lifts that require a spotter during unmanned hours.

3. Avoid High-Risk Lifts

Exercises that may require assistance or spotting should not be performed when training alone, including:

● Maximal or near-maximal attempts

● Forced repetitions

● Any lift where failure would trap the lifter

4. Keep Your Phone Accessible

Members should keep a charged mobile phone nearby & accessible in case of emergency.

5. Be Aware of Your Surroundings

Ensure walkways are clear, equipment is set up safely, and weights are secured with collars where applicable.

Members agree they have familiarised themselves with the location of all emergency exits, the first aid kit, and nearest defibrillator advise notices.

6. Report Injuries or Equipment Issues

Any injuries, incidents, or faulty equipment should be reported to staff or management immediately by any means (in person, phone, email, app).

7. Emergency Situations

If an emergency occurs, members should contact emergency services immediately and notify gym staff as soon as possible afterwards.

8. Member Responsibility

By accessing the gym during unmanned hours, members acknowledge that they are responsible for their own safety and must follow this policy at all times.

Failure to follow these guidelines may result in restricted access to unmanned hours or termination of membership.
